Pier Jacopo Alari Bonacolsi, known as L'Antico, was an Italian Renaissance sculptor. He was born in Mantua, Italy around 1460 and died in 1528. He was known for his finely detailed small bronzes all'Antica, characterized by cool classicizing, often with gilded details, and silver-inlaid eyes. His nickname 'L'Antico' was given for the refined interpretation of the Antique they recognized in his work.
