René Buthaud, also known by the pseudonym Jean Doris, was a renowned French artist, born on December 14, 1886. His life was marked by an early interest in art, and he studied at the École des beaux-arts de Bordeaux and the École des beaux-arts de Paris. He is best known for his ceramic works, which often feature ovoid vases and stylized depictions of female figures. He was also a painter and printmaker. Buthaud died in Bordeaux on January 10, 1986.
