Biografia:

Lady Pink, also known as Sandra Fabara, is an Ecuadorian-American graffiti artist and muralist. She was born in Ambato, Ecuador, and moved to Queens, New York, at the age of seven. Lady Pink's career as a graffiti artist began as a teenager, when she started tagging her ex-boyfriend's name on city walls. She later adopted the moniker 'Lady Pink,' which was inspired by her love of historical romances, the Victorian period, and the femininity associated with the color pink. From 1979 to 1985, she linked up with various established graffiti crews and her unique style stood out in these male-dominated spaces. In 1980, her art was included in the groundbreaking New York show at Fashion Moda, 'GAS: Graffiti Art Success for America,' which helped launch the graffiti art movement. In 1982, she starred in the independent feature film Wild Style, which won her worldwide recognition. Lady Pink's artwork has become more political as she combined themes of fantasy and spirituality with her unique style. She has exhibited her canvas work in galleries and her paintings are highly prized by collectors. Today, Lady Pink continues to create new paintings on canvas and shares her 40 years of experience with teens by holding mural workshops and actively lecturing to college students throughout the world.
