It is a division of Quality Bicycle Products, a manufacturer and distributor of bicycles and bicycle parts. Surly Bikes is known for its single-speed bikes, but it became particularly famous for its fat-tire bikes that it helped pioneer with machinery it owned. The brand is also known for its steel bikes for people who don't take themselves too seriously.
