Hendrik van Schuylenburgh was a Dutch painter born in Middelburg, Netherlands in 1620 and died in 1689. He was trained as a painter and became a member of the Guild of Saint Luke in Middelburg in 1644. He specialized in landscapes and is known for his paintings of the Dutch East India Company's trading posts in Bengal, India. He is considered one of the most important painters of the Dutch Golden Age.
