Himer Jacob Fox (1847-1909) was an American artist born in New York City. He was a stoneware potter who created functional and decorative pieces, including the Five-Gallon Storage Jar. Fox's work is highly regarded for its craftsmanship and artistic qualities, and he is considered one of the leading stoneware potters of his time. He died in 1909.
