Biografi:

Sakumi Hagiwara (萩原朔美) is a Japanese artist born in Tokyo in 1946. He began his career in the 1960s as an actor in underground theatre, and later worked as a stage director and a filmmaker. In the 1970s, he started making silkscreen prints, and became known for his work as a promoter of citizen video work. He is the Representative Director of the NPO Shimin ga Tsukuru TVF (Community-made TVF) which runs the annual Tokyo Video Festival. He also taught at Seian University of Art and Design from 1992-2010. He is currently a client of the Video Hiroba collective, and is known for his work in video and sculpture. He is also known for his work as a promoter of citizen video work.
