Stephen Guion Williams is a widely celebrated photojournalist and fine art photographer from the Greater Philadelphia area. He grew up in Old Chatham, New York, home to the Shaker Museum and Library, an institution that colored his early thoughts. After graduating from the University of Kansas in 1965, he photographed for the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin and the Philadelphia Inquirer. He has published several books, including 'Chosen Land: The Sabbathday Lake Shakers' (1975) and 'The Shakers of Sabbathday Lake' (1987). He is also the recipient of numerous awards, including the Leica Medal of Excellence (1986) and the American Society of Media Photographers' Photographer of the Year (1987).
