Alek O, also known as Alejandra Osorio, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1981. She is a contemporary artist who currently lives and works in Milan, Italy. Her practice revolves around how objects are capable of retaining their past histories in their material nature. She often distills and replaces the common visual aspects of objects with geometric abstraction, creating a transformation and conservation effect. Alek O has had solo exhibitions in various galleries, including Frutta in Rome, Jeanine Hofland in Amsterdam, and LAMB Gallery in London. Her work has also been featured in Martina Simeti and Docent Art.
