Alessandro Franceschi was an Italian sculptor born in Montasico, Italy in 1789 and died in Bologna, Italy in 1834. He was a promising student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna under the guidance of Giovanni Battista Frulli and Giacomo De Maria. He began working as a funerary sculptor in the Certosa di Bologna cemetery, where he created the Monumento Badini in 1826. He is known for his sculptures in the neoclassical style. Franceschi's work is characterized by a deep understanding of the human form and an ability to capture the emotion and movement of his subjects. He is considered one of the most important sculptors of the Romagna region and his work can be found in many churches and museums throughout Italy.
