Ana Teresa Ortega is a Spanish artist, sculptor, photographer and professor. She was born in Alicante in 1952 and has been working as a professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Valencia since then. Her work combines photography, video and installations to explore the influence of media on society and the formation of collective memory. One of her most notable projects is 'Foto-esculturas', which she developed between 1992 and 1996, combining three-dimensional structures with photographic images on different supports such as fabrics or transparencies along with materials like iron or glass. In addition to being an artist, Ana Teresa Ortega is also a writer and has published several books including 'Cartografías silenciadas' which she worked on for four years between 2007-11.
