Andrey Gorbunov was born in Dzerzhinsk, Russia in 1979. He studied at the Nizhniy Novgorod Art School and St. Petersburg's Mukhina Academy, where he is now a professor in the monumental department. His works can be found in private collections in Russia, Europe, and North America. In addition to his work as an artist, Gorbunov is also a published author and researcher in the field of applied mathematics and physics, with a focus on ferro- and ferrielectricity and negative piezoelectricity in thioamide-based materials. He is currently a professor at the Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation.
