Angelo Michele Gottarelli was an Italian painter, active near Imola and in the Papal States. He was born in Castel Bolognese, and as a young man entered a seminary in Imola, but abandoned the vocation religious for art. He studied with Vittorio Maria Bigari at the Accademia Clementina in Bologna. He returned to Imola where he taught painting and collaborated with Alessandro Dalla Nave and Antonio Villa for many decorations. Most of his paintings are in the churches of Imola, Castel Bolognese, Medicina and the surrounding areas. He died in Imola in 1813.
