Basil Alkazzi is a Kuwaiti artist born in 1938. He studied at the Central School of Art in London and has been regularly showing his abstract, dreamlike paintings since then. His work is heavily influenced by Jungian journeys into mystical places inhabited by the mind and spirit, with a focus on Middle Eastern themes and imagery. He has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Muzeum Narodowe w Gdańsku in Poland. His work is held in numerous public and private collections.
