Edward Fisher was an Irish artist born in Dublin in 1730. He was a renowned engraver, mainly of portraits, who worked in London. He was a member of the Incorporated Society of Artists and exhibited his works there between 1761 and 1776. His first engraving was made in 1758, and his last one in 1781. He was known for his meticulous and detailed work, which earned him the nickname of 'injuste exactitude' from Sir Joshua Reynolds. Fisher died in London between 1781 and 1785.
