ชีวประวัติ:
Edward Rudge was an English botanist and antiquary. He was born on June 27, 1763, and died on September 3, 1846. His father, Edward Rudge, was a merchant and alderman of Salisbury who possessed a large portion of the Evesham Abbey estate. Edward Rudge's attention was early turned to botany through the influence of his uncle Samuel Rudge, who formed an herbarium that passed to him. He studied the flora of Guiana and published 'Plantarum Guianæ rariorum icones et descriptiones hactenus ineditæ' between 1805 and 1807. He conducted excavations at Evesham Abbey estate and communicated his findings to the Society of Antiquaries of London. Rudge was elected a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, Linnean Society, and Royal Society. In 1829, he was appointed High Sheriff of Worcestershire.
