Evelina Cattermole, also known as Contessa Lara, was an Italian poet and writer. She was born in Florence, Italy in 1849 and died in Rome, Italy in 1896. She wrote in Italian and published several collections of poetry and novels, including 'Versi' in 1883, 'E ancora versi' in 1886, and 'Una famiglia di topi' in 1895. She was also known for her scandalous personal life and was a central figure in the literary scene of Milan in the late 19th century.
