Gaia Fugazza is an Italian artist born in Milan in 1985. She obtained her MFA from UAL Chelsea College of Art in London in 2014, after completing her BA in Painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan in 2008. She also studied at the Université Paris 8 in Paris in 2007. Fugazza's practice encompasses the creation of objects and performances that delve into the concept of tacit knowledge while challenging the Cartesian schism between the body and the mind and between subjects and the environment. Her work has been exhibited in numerous key galleries and museums such as Roman Road, Bethnal Green. Fugazza's practice includes paintings and performances exploring the troubled relationship of humans and the natural environment, plant knowledge, reproduction and transcendental practices.
