George Frederick Gregory Jnr was an Australian marine artist born in Footscray, Victoria, Australia in 1857 and died in New South Wales in 1913. He was the eldest son of George Frederick Gregory, also a maritime painter who worked in Melbourne from the 1850s. Gregory Jnr was one of the most prolific exponents of Australian marine art whose active period spanned from the late nineteenth century and into the early twentieth. He was known for his detailed and realistic depictions of ships and the sea, and his work has been widely exhibited and collected.
