Zhang Guangyu was a Chinese artist and illustrator, known for his contributions to Chinese comics and animation. He was one of the founders of the first Chinese animation studio, the Shanghai Animation Film Studio, in 1957. Zhang was born in China and was a pioneer in the development of Chinese comics and animation. He was a versatile artist, working in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, and sculpture. Zhang's work was heavily influenced by traditional Chinese art and literature, as well as Western art and animation. He was a prolific artist, creating a wide range of works including cartoons, comics, and animated films. Zhang's most famous work is the animated feature film 'Havoc in Heaven', which he co-directed with his brothers in 1961. The film is an adaptation of the earlier episodes of the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West and is considered a classic of Chinese animation.
