Haider Ali Jan is a visual artist and art educator from Lahore District, Punjab, Pakistan. He is known for his work that fuses photographs and digitally animated imagery, often alluding to the contradictions inherent in political rhetoric and conventions of belief. Jan grew up in Pakistan and has exhibited his work in various institutions, including the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art in Australia. He is also the recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military gallantry award of Pakistan, given posthumously to members of the Pakistan Armed Forces who have shown the highest acts of extraordinary bravery in the face of the enemy in air, land, or sea. The Nishan-e-Haider is named after Ali, the fourth Caliph of Islam and declared bravest person by Muhammad, known by his courage, bravery, and power in Islam.
