Hans Reinhart the Elder (1510 – 1581) was a German goldsmith, medallist, and engraver. He was born in Augsburg and was the son of the goldsmith Hans Reinhart the Younger. Reinhart the Elder was a member of the Swabian Circle and was appointed as a medallist to the court of Emperor Charles V in 1537. He is best known for his portrait medals, including the Gold Medal of Charles V, which he created in 1537. Reinhart the Elder was also a prolific engraver and produced numerous engravings, including portraits and religious subjects. He died in Augsburg in 1581.
