Janusz Szpyt is a Polish painter born in 1960 in Lubaczów. He studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Katowice of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in Jerzy Duda-Gracz's studio and then at the Faculty of Painting of the AFA in Kraków in the professor Włodzimierz Buczko's studio. In 1983, he collaborated with Piotr Naliwajko and Leszek Żegalski and created The Group of Three (Grupa Trzech), also called Snooty Trio (Tercet Nadęty). His work is directed towards the human being and his problems, often represented in a universal way. He is known for his use of color and technique, and his paintings often feature nudity and staffage. Janusz Szpyt's paintings are humanistic and often deal with themes such as good and evil. He is currently based in Lubaczów, where he continues to create.
