Jos Hendrickx was a Belgian artist born in Borgerhout, Belgium in 1906 and died in Antwerp, Belgium in 1971. He was a drawer, aquarellist, woodcutter, engraver, and glass artist. Hendrickx studied at the Academy and the National Superior Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where he later became a professor in 1946. His work is characterized by a balance between avant-garde and arrière-garde, with a particular interest in the horizontal and vertical. Hendrickx's artworks have been sold in auctions more than 500 times, mainly in the category of drawing. He is represented in several museums and institutions, including the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, the Royal Library of Belgium, and the Centre de la Gravure et de l'Image imprimée.
