Kamat Photo Flash is a Mumbai-based photography studio that has been associated with publicity photography for the film industry since its inception. The studio was founded by Damodar Kamat, who left his home in Belgaum in his late teens to work for Bombay Talkies in Mumbai. He set up Kamat Foto Flash in the 1940s and became one of the most sought-after photographers in the industry. The studio has over 1,00,000 photos shot on the sets of iconic Hindi films such as Phool aur Patthar, Pyaasa, Sangam, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, and many more. Kamat Foto Flash has been instrumental in creating some of the most memorable images of Indian cinema, and its legacy continues to this day.
