Liu Kaiqu was a Chinese artist born in Xiaoxian, China in 1904. He was one of the most influential Chinese modern sculptors and sculpture art educators. Liu Kaiqu was the first Director of the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) and one of the pioneers of modern Chinese sculpture. He passed away in 1993.
