Pinaree Sanpitak is a Thai conceptual and contemporary artist. She was born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1961. Sanpitak is known for her work addressing motherhood, womanhood, and self by using the shape of the breast to provoke the symbol of feminism and femininity. She attended the University of Tsukuba in Ibaraki, Japan, and Northern Territory University in Darwin, Australia. In 2007, Sanpitak received the Silpathorn Award for Visual Arts from the Thai Ministry of Culture. Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, including H Gallery in Bangkok, Galerie Lelong & Co. in New York, and the Metropolitan Museum of Manila.
