ชีวประวัติ:
Polykleitos, also known as Polykleitos of Argos, was an ancient Greek sculptor born in Sicyon or Argos in 450 BC. He was active in the 5th century BCE and is considered one of the most important sculptors of classical antiquity, alongside Pheidias, Myron, and Praxiteles. The 4th century BCE catalogue attributed to Xenocrates ranked him between Pheidias and Myron. Polykleitos is particularly known for his lost treatise, the Canon of Polykleitos, which set out his mathematical basis of an idealized male body shape. None of his original sculptures are known to survive, but many marble works, mostly Roman, are believed to be later copies. Polykleitos died in 420 BC.
