ชีวประวัติ:
Reinhold Vasters was a German goldsmith born in Aachen in 1827 and died in 1909. He was a prolific art forger, creating many pieces attributed to Renaissance masters. One of his most famous works is the Rospigliosi Cup, previously attributed to Benvenuto Cellini, but now known to be a forgery. Vasters' designs came to light some 60 years after his death, revealing his mastery of replicating another artist's style precisely. The Rospigliosi Cup is now housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York.
