Hai Bo is a Chinese artist born in Changtu, Liaoning Province in 1962. He graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Fine Art Institute of Jilin in 1984. Hai Bo is known for his highly conceptual photographs that document the changing social, economic, and environmental climate of contemporary Chinese society. He is based in Beijing and has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Walther Collection.
