Jesus Barrazas and Melanie Cervantes are graphic artists and printmakers who collaborate together as Dignidad Rebelde. They use their art to highlight community struggles, dreams, and visions, and to empower communities. They believe that art can be a powerful tool for social change and have worked on issues such as defense of Ethnic Studies, affirmative action, immigrants rights, women's rights, and youth activism. They have worked with various organizations and groups, including MEXA, twLF at UC Berkeley, NNIRR, Schools Not Jails, NACCS, MALCS, and Indig-nación. Jesus Barrazas holds a BA in Raza Studies from San Francisco State University and an MFA in Social Practice and a Masters in Visual Critical Studies from California College of the Arts. Melanie Cervantes holds a BA in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
