was born in Bondanello di Quistello, Italy in 1878. He began his artistic journey at the Liceo artistico and later studied at the Institute of Fine Arts of Naples under Pietro Barillà, Alberto Chiancone, and Eugenio Viti. This foundation in traditional Italian art education would later influence his unique style.
Semeghini's work is characterized by its focus on genre subjects, often depicted in oil and acquaforte. His style, while rooted in traditional Italian painting, was also influenced by the Post-Impressionists, as seen in his use of vibrant colors and emotive brushwork. This blend of classic techniques with modern sensibilities sets his work apart.
* A Tribute to Piero Della Francesca (58 x 72 cm, Galleria d'Arte Moderna Achille Forti, Verona, Italy, Oil On Panel) showcases Semeghini's ability to pay homage to the masters while maintaining his unique voice. * Neve a Venezia (1921, oil on plywood, 60 x 90 cm), part of the collection at Museo “Mario Rimoldi” in Cortina d’Ampezzo, demonstrates his skill in capturing the essence of Italian landscapes.
* Semeghini won the Premio Bergamo in 1939 for Il ponte di Chioggia (oil on plywood, 64 x 74 cm), a testament to his growing recognition within the Italian art community.
Semeghini's later years saw him return to Aversa, where he taught design at the local school. He became director of the Liceo Artistico Statale in 1970, solidifying his impact on future generations of artists. He passed away in 1964, leaving behind a body of work that continues to inspire.
