Tremain Smith has four works in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Her work is in corporate and private collections across the United States. She studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Tyler School of Art, Carnegie-Mellon University, and the University of Pennsylvania. She has been widely featured in over 70 solo and group exhibitions across the United States since 1996. She is known for her mixed media work and her use of oil glazes, collaged elements, and multiple strata to create abstract paintings that explore inner landscapes and facilitate healing, both personal and communal.
