John Michael Bird was an English actor, director, writer and satirist. He was born on November 22, 1936 in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire, England. He began his acting career in the 1960s and appeared in numerous films, television shows, theatre and radio productions. He was best known for his work in satire, including his appearances in the television show That Was the Week That Was and his collaborations with John Fortune and Rory Bremner. Bird was also a writer and director, contributing to many scripts for television and stage. He passed away on December 24, 2022.
