زندگینامه:

Andreas Ferdinand Mayr was an Austrian violin and lute maker born in Vienna-St. Veit in 1693. He became the Salzburg Court Lute and Violin maker after Johannes Schorn's death in 1718. In 1719, he married Maria Magdalena, the widow of Johannes Schorn, as per the typical system for upholding workshops during the baroque period. Mayr was a highly skilled craftsman who built high-quality instruments, including violoncellos, bratsches, and violins for the Salzburg Court Orchestra. He is also known for creating a small violin in 1746 that is believed to be Mozart's child-violin. Mayr died on July 28, 1764, in Salzburg. His son Ferdinand succeeded him as the Hoflauten- und Geigenmacher, and his other son Andreas was a Hofviolinist.
