Thomas Lefebure was a German artist born in Brussels in 1636. He was a painter in miniature to Margrave William at Durlach in Baden by 1669. In 1674, he traveled to Italy at the expense of Margrave Frederick IV Magnus to study architecture. He practiced this art on his return, becoming Hofbaumeister in 1688 and Baurat in 1704.
