Otasević, through his long opus, develops a pop-artistic view of the world. He takes consumer culture and everyday life as a topic, and consciously flirts with kitsch and introduces humor and wit. Behind the casualness and wit of his works stands the lucidity and serious critical analysis of society. The work With golden cutlery belongs to paintings-objects. The artist processes the three-dimensional scene of the table with the set culinary specialty and the appropriate cutlery as a two-dimensional scene. With proper geometrization, it erases humanity and allure from the scene and transfers it to the planned use (consumption) of the served meal (fish). Using the term golden cutlery, the artist tempts the local observer to refer to a likable historical / free-interpretive quote about the ancient use of luxury cutlery in Serbian national culture. On the other hand, by turning fish scales into a square pixelated surface, the twentieth-century development of civilization turns into a blink in which a digitalized, virtual world has emerged from the victory of Christianity (with the fish as its symbol).
