Vidya Shankar Sthapathy happens to be the only craftsman who turned to contemporary sculpture and is one of the pioneers of the Madras Metaphor (the contemporary sculpture movement in Madras). This sculpture depicts a girl on a swing with the background of a tree and is crafted out of copper sheet.
