questa è una parte del ciclo di affreschi nella cappella dell'arena , che è uno dei Giotto’s opere più rinomate . la scena raffigura adoratori che salutano il bambino gesù , impiegando Giotto’s tecniche come il drappeggio della stoffa e l'emozione sui volti delle figure nella scena , così come l'uso di three-dimensional tecniche , aiutare gli spettatori a posizionarsi sulla scena . una delle componenti più interessanti di questo affresco è la stella di betelemme sotto forma di una cometa che spara nel cielo . si pensa che giotto sia stato ispirato a dipingere questa stella in questa forma a causa di un 1301 visualizzazione di Halley’s Cometa .
