Andreas Schweigel, also known as Andreas Kaspar Schweigel, was a German sculptor born in Brno, Czech Republic in 1735. He died in Brno in 1812. Schweigel was a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and was highly influenced by Paul Troger. He was known for his work in wood and gilding, and his sculptures can be found in various churches and institutions in Moravia and Silésia. He is particularly known for his work in the church of Notre-Dame-des-Douleurs near Jägerndorf, where he created the ancient master-altar between 1764 and 1770. He also wrote the first critical and commented art history book about monuments in Moravia.
