Francis Anthony Nixon was an American small business owner and the father of U.S. president Richard Nixon. He was born on December 3, 1878 in Elk Township, Vinton County, Ohio, and died on September 4, 1956 in La Habra, California. Nixon was raised Methodist but converted to Quakerism when he married Hannah Milhous. He was known for being the father of Richard Nixon and was a member of the Republican Party. Nixon's family ancestry included colonial Pennsylvania Quakers.
