Giovan Battista Carini was an Italian painter born in Ferrara in 1538 and died in Venice in 1612. He was a pupil of the Venetian painter Jacopo Bassano. Carini was a versatile artist who worked in various media, including oil on canvas, fresco, and miniature. He was known for his still lifes, landscapes, and portraits. Carini's style was influenced by the Venetian school, but he also incorporated elements of Mannerism and the Baroque. He was a member of the Accademia dei Desiderosi and the Accademia degli Incamminati. Carini's works can be found in various museums and collections, including the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan, the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica in Rome, and the National Gallery in London.
