He studied at the École des beaux-arts de Paris under notable artists such as Joseph Carlier, Henri Louis Levasseur, Georges Tonnelier, and Oscar Roty. Legastelois is known for his work on various monuments, medals, and sculptures, including those dedicated to historical figures like Clemenceau, Foch, and Myron Timothy Herrick. He also created busts of notable individuals such as Laurent Monnet and Adolphe Pégoud. Legastelois passed away on April 14, 1931, at the age of 75.
