Laura Aguilar was an American photographer (1959-2018). She was of native Californio, Mexican and Irish descent. Born in San Gabriel, California and grew up in the San Fernando Valley, she is known for her bold and intimate photographs of herself, her friends, her family, and marginalized groups such as women, Chicanx, queer art scenes of Los Angeles.
