Margaretha Helm, also known as Margaretha Helmin, was an embroidery teacher and skilled copper plate engraver from Nuremberg, Germany. She created a series of plates of her embroidery designs, which were later printed in a three-volume work titled Kunst- und Fleiss-übende Nadel Ergötzungen oder neu-erfundenes Neh- und Stick-Buch. The books were published by Johann Christoph Weigel of Nuremberg in the early 1720s and include designs for the decoration of shoes. Margaretha Helm is one of several early-modern female textile artists who were able to publish their designs under their own name. Her work is characterized by floral designs and decorative elements typical of the late Baroque period, with some plates featuring Chinoiserie motifs. Her
