Tiểu sử:
Petrus Christus, an early Netherlandish painter, was active in Bruges from 1444. He became a leading painter after the death of Jan van Eyck and was influenced by van Eyck and Rogier van der Weyden. Christus is noted for his innovations with linear perspective and meticulous technique.
Little is known about Petrus Christus' early life, but he was born in the mid-15th century in Bruges, present-day Belgium. He is first documented as a painter in 1444, when he became an apprentice to a local artist. Christus quickly gained recognition for his exceptional skill and attention to detail. Petrus Christus worked on several notable projects, including The Virgin Mary with the Child, which is now housed at the National Gallery. This painting showcases Christus' mastery of oil painting techniques and his ability to convey profound religious themes.
Christus was influenced by the International Gothic style, but he soon eclipsed it through his emphasis on naturalism and realism. He achieved a new level of virtuosity in his use of oil paint, which was highly influential among Early Netherlandish painters. Some of Christus' notable works include Portrait of a Young Man, which is now housed at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. This painting showcases Christus' ability to capture the subtleties of human emotion and his use of rich, warm colorization.
Petrus Christus' legacy can be seen in the work of many later artists, including Jan van Eyck and Rogier van der Weyden. His innovative style and use of oil paint helped to establish Early Netherlandish painting as a major force in the Northern Renaissance. Christus' paintings can be found in many notable museums, including the National Gallery and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. https://Wikioo.org/Art.nsf/Art_EN?Open&Query=petrus+christus,petrus,christus& https://Wikioo.org/@/Petrus-Christus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petrus_Christus
